Happy end of 2018 to you! During this stretch between Christmas and New Year’s, I like to take it easy. I love lingering over cups of tea by the tree, getting lost in good movies and books, and working on puzzles with family (perfect activity this time of year). I also like to reflect on the year, which can feel so fast – until you remember all that you’ve done. Today, I am sharing some notable moments from this year on The Honey Print and things I have learned (just click each heading to read the post):
I had a poem published.
And I learned to make time for my passions. For me, that includes writing. Often, over the past year, people have asked how in the world I have time to blog as a full-time teacher. The truth is, if you really want to do something and care about it, you’ll make time for it. (As they say, you have as many hours in a day as Beyoncé.)
I turned 27 and shared 27 lessons I have learned.
Read this one – lots of little lessons here.
I traveled across France and Spain.
This year, I embraced adventure. I learned how to travel alone safely in Europe and to pack smart. I shared my journey through Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat as well as other parts of the French Riviera, through Barcelona and San Sebastián, and finally through the Bordeaux region and Provence. This trip was one of my greatest experiences.
I spent time in my favorite place on Earth.
Read this post for lessons that our simple summers in Rhode Island have taught me. There is value in disconnecting and being fully present.
I lived alone this whole year.
I shared what I love so much about living solo.
I celebrated one year of The Honey Print.
I compiled some of my most popular posts to that date.
I hosted my first Friendsgiving.
I grew in my love for all things home and entertaining. I enjoyed this greatly (and you guys did, too – it is now my most viewed post) and look forward to writing much more similar content in 2019.
I shared my favorite Christmas traditions.
I do find that the best way to end the year is quietly and reflectively with the ones you love.
How was your 2018? Are you sad to see the year go, or ready for a fresh start? Share your feelings in the comments!
