Hey, summer! As a teacher, for me, summer break is much-anticipated all spring, and gleefully celebrated once Memorial Day arrives. To kick off the start of this carefree season, I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to enjoy Nashville during its hottest months:
The pool
Sure, we may be a landlocked state, but there’s always the pool. If you’re looking to visit Nashville this summer, definitely opt for a hotel with a pool, like the Omni, the Bobby, the Westin, or the Kimpton Aertson. If you live here and are sans pool, head to Pinewood Social for a soak or a nearby community center – or find a friend with a pool!
Cold treat
There’s nothing like a Las Paletas popsicle on a hot day. I’ve been eating these local treats for years, and they are all natural, creatively flavored, and absolutely delicious. Here, I’m eating a green tea one (so creamy, so divine) after the last day of school! Also try Jeni’s frosé sorbet for an extra special treat.
Dine al fresco
To me, eating outdoors is one of the greatest pleasures of summertime. I recommend heading somewhere with thirst-quenching beverages and eats like True Food Kitchen, where I am above. Try the Sparkling Antioxidant Tea and Good Earth Kale Cobb salad for a light, refreshing lunch.
Goat Yoga
The first Saturday of each month this summer, Shenanigoats is offering a Goat Yoga class at the Green at JW downtown, followed by a locally sourced brunch at Stompin’ Grounds Restaurant. I attended this past weekend’s class, and it was so fun! You have two more opportunities to attend.
And more!
Because there are so many fun things to do in Nashville throughout the summer, I’ve compiled a list of all my must-dos, in addition to the ones above. Check them off as you go! This is the perfect size for an Instagram story, so feel free to repost and tag me, if you’d like:
