This past weekend, I partnered with the Artmore Hotel located in Atlanta’s Arts District to showcase a getaway spent in this dreamy hotel and charming, walkable area of town. My boyfriend H and I had a wonderful time, and I am sharing our experience so that you can start planning your own excursion soon!
Friday Evening
H and I arrived early evening on Friday and were instantly stunned by the Artmore’s exterior and European feel. Upon entering the lobby, we were warmly greeted at the front desk and shown to our suite.
We headed up to our 2-bedroom, 1-bath suite where the staff had left us a romance package – which meant chocolate, champagne, and red roses everywhere, making me feel like The Bachelorette! The suite was spacious with a downstairs living area and kitchen, and upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. Artwork of famous actors and musicians decorated the suite – and the entire hotel! As I used to act in plays, and H works as a cellist, we felt right at home in this creative space. (See my “atlanta” Instagram story highlight for a full tour.)
Once we were settled in, we headed out for our first adventure in Atlanta. But first, a photo in the courtyard, which we just adored! (It had been raining, hence the couch covers.)
H and I took an Uber to the insanely cool Georgia Aquarium for an event called Sips by the Sea: Beach Bash. A DJ played music while we drank out of light-up disco ball cups and toured the aquarium freely. It was an absolute blast and unlike anything we’d ever done. If you ever have a chance to attend a Sips by the Sea event, don’t hesitate! (See my “atlanta” highlight for all the footage.)
After the event (where we stayed until close!), we wandered just up the street to see the Ferris wheel and Centennial Olympic Park. From there, we took an Uber back to our homey hotel suite.
Saturday
The next morning, we enjoyed a light breakfast at the Artmore in our cozy robes before venturing off for a big day.
We started off by walking a mile to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, which absolutely blew us away.
The gardens were huge and filled with lush, diverse groups of plants and flowers. There were numerous outdoor and indoor plant collections to explore and admire. Plus, the garden regularly hosts chefs that teach visitors how to make a fresh, seasonal recipes.
Our favorite part was the Alice’s Wonderland exhibit, which brought Alice in Wonderland to life with giant topiary-like sculptures of favorite characters and scenes.
When we were finished at the garden, we walked through the connected Piedmont Park, a dynamic spot full of people and dogs enjoying the day. We then crossed to the convenient, paved Atlanta BeltLine, which took us all the way to the bustling Ponce City Market.
Ponce City Market is a huge historic building with an industrial vibe that hosts a variety of shops and restaurants in addition to offices and residential units. We found the space full of quirky, cool places, all of which we couldn’t resist investigating. Frankly, you could go here and never leave. It’s got everything! Being in a stimulating and crowded environment, we got tired fast, especially after all the walking we’d done that morning. One thing we didn’t have energy for was seeing Skyline Park on top of Ponce City Market, but we plan on going our next trip.
After a much-needed long nap back at the Artmore, H and I ventured out a bit farther to The Battery, an attractive strip of shops and restaurants (and hotels, if you’d like to stay there) for Atlanta Braves fans to enjoy, as SunTrust Park anchors the area.
We had plans to attend a baseball game, but first, we popped by Punchbowl Social, a play place for adults with a restaurant, bars, bowling, foosball, arcade games, and much more. With tons of rooms to relish, you could stay all day.
But we stopped in just for a quick healthy bite. I drank the Jessica Rabbit, a juice with carrot, ginger, and apple, and we snacked on hummus, guacamole, and veggies.
And then it was time for the game!
We loved walking around the gigantic SunTrust Park and cheering on the Reds, H’s team. The Braves won, but we had too much fun to care.
Sunday Morning
After a restful sleep, we took one last walk around the gorgeous Artmore. I especially loved this little covered outdoor area.
We said goodbye to our room and the pretty courtyard, and were on our way back to Nashville.
We absolutely loved this weekend, and our stay at the Artmore made it extra special. If you’d like to book a room, use code HP10 for 10% off any room!
