I’m positively giddy in the fall – cozy days and sweaters, crisp park walks, the scent of pumpkin, apple, and spices. It all makes me happy. What about you? I just want to elongate October-December and experience every bit of the season in the present moment. I find these months to be such a precious time, so today, I’m sharing 10 ways to slow down and experience a little autumn magic:
1. Serve yourself pumpkin butter on toast for breakfast in bed.
2. Go for a hike, collecting colorful leaves along the way.
3. Snuggle up for a movie night and munch on popcorn + candy corn.
4. Decorate your porch with fresh mums and pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch.
5. Get a new soft sweater.
6. Munch on a Honeycrisp apple.
7. Delight in fall flavors – seasonal teas, sweets, and treats.
8. Light a seasonal candle every evening, from dinner until bedtime.
9. Host friends for a cozy potluck.
10. Make a comforting fall recipe, like butternut squash soup.
11. Bake pumpkin bread with your mom or a loved one.
12. On Thanksgiving Day, watch the parade, enjoy the company, and savor the meal – all without your phone.
13. Drink hot apple cider on the porch.
14. Curl up in your favorite blanket and read a novel for the afternoon.
