If there’s one thing we know right now, it’s that the future is uncertain. We cannot predict exactly what the summer will look like for us. As a person who loves being in control, I’m having to let go of a lot of those feelings and just surrender. All I can do is stay home and safe and hope that others will do their part as well.
And because I cannot command what’s to come, I’m learning to take things one day at a time and stop planning. I’m not counting on anything. I may get lucky and have a summer getaway, but I may not. Instead, I’m taking each day for what it is and practicing gratitude for what I have. And now more than ever, I’m loving the little things.
And so, I’m sharing a few small happy things I’ve seen online, in hopes that we can let go of grand expectations and just enjoy the now.
Backyard Inflatable Pools
Since it’s uncertain whether we will get to go to the beach or pool this summer, I’m in favor or trying a kiddie pool! Find your childhood spirit and consider this adorable inflatable pool sized for 2 adults (or multiple kids) or neon pool.
Mermaid Cookie Cutters
These are perfect for your summer quarantine baking endeavors! I just think they’re darling.
Culinary Herb Garden Maker
What better time to grow some herbs? This little kit has everything you need! Also see the Veggie Garden Maker and Garden Drop-In Kits.
Soft Cabana Print Tee
I think the print of this tee would make me feel like I’m on a vacation from home. Marine Layer is one of my favorite brands. Their clothes are so soft!
The Softest Pajamas Ever
I am a huge lover of Lake Pajamas, but this pair of vintage-style pjs is the softest and comfiest I have ever put on! Plus, it’s my favorite color. If you love summer and being cozy, you need these.
All of these just make me excited for warmer weather – no matter what’s going on in the world. Which suits you best?
