I have been celebrating this first weekend of fall with some simple festive activities. It’s been a lovely few days of welcoming the new season, so I wanted to share them with you. Here are some ideas for making the most of a fall weekend!
Start the day with some Trader Joe’s pumpkin breakfast goodies and pumpkin spice chai tea.
I allow myself to indulge in all the Trader Joe’s pumpkin fare just once per year, and it’s always a special treat. I also love sipping on this tea! I just add a bit of unsweet almond milk to my tea for the perfect cup.
Enjoy the leaves starting to change with a walk in the park.
One of my favorite daily activities is taking a walk in Nashville’s beautiful parks, and to me, fall is the best season for doing so. I find peace watching the leaves change from week to week.
Light a fall candle and listen to jazz.
My preferred fall candles are often apple-scented, and I recently discovered this one, pictured above! There’s something about lighting a candle and listening to some instrumental coffee shop jazz that gives me all the cozy feelings.
Pick out pumpkins.
I always enjoy going to Flying Ghost Pumpkin Patch for pumpkins! They have all kinds – from Cinderella to Fairytale – in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes. My mom and I went on Saturday, and I think we found the prettiest pumpkins and mums (see mine above) – I can’t wait for them to bloom.
Give yourself a fall pedicure.
I found this Essie color and became obsessed when I saw it on my toes! I’ll be wearing it all fall.
Curl up with soup and watch a fall show.
Do you get excited about eating soup at this time of year, too? A comforting and healthy one that I love is the Butternut Squash + Rosemary soup from Daily Harvest (get $25 off your first box). Then, pop on a show that suits the cozy season, like Gilmore Girls, which I’m watching for the first time!
Next weekend, I want to go to Cheekwood Harvest, which is one of my favorite events each year.
