It’s the last week of February, the snow is gone, and the temperatures have risen. Spring fever struck me this week, and I simply couldn’t wait to put the winter and Valentine’s decor away in favor of all things spring. Spring just might be my favorite season (though I love them all!). Spring colors certainly are my pick, and I love the newly warm days and fresh blooms. It’s a season of hope and new life, floral prints and whimsy. Dreaming of 70-degree afternoons filled with wildflowers, I pulled out all my spring decor from previous years and went to work first thing Saturday morning.
In the fall and winter, instead of buying brand new pillows, I put seasonal pillow covers – which are less expensive and make for easy storage – over our spring green pillows. I took the covers off, and now our pillows will stay uncovered all spring and summer. Same goes for our neutral pillows in the corner reading nook. I also swapped our heavier winter throw blankets with lightweight ones in pastel yellow, pink, and white.
On the mantel, I placed our eucalyptus garland, which I’ve had and loved for several years now (along with our eucalyptus wreath on the door). On the living room bookshelf, I replaced all the Valentine’s pink with green and white artificial plants and flowers (artificial works best in this corner since it doesn’t get sunlight) along with fresh candles. I think spring looks lovely in our new living room, and I’m really happy with how everything turned out.
In the kitchen, I got out our sunny yellow placemats which just make me smile, along with one of my favorite vases from Anthropologie that I’ve been enjoying over the past few springs. It’s one of my most treasured pieces. They have some beautiful vases if you’re looking to freshen up your decor this season.
In our bedroom, we stored away the winter flannel sheets, and it felt so good to get out our crisp light spring bedding again. Over the past few years, we have loved our Leesa mattress and pillows, and our Parachute Home bedding is simply the best for a comfortable, soothing sleep. We have this duvet insert, duvet cover, striped linen quilt, striped linen shams, pillowcases, euro pillows, euro shams, top sheet, and fitted sheet. Everything from Parachute is silky smooth, light, and just dreamy. We also included our round velvet throw pillow on the bed for a cohesive feel.
