Over the past few weeks, I’ve taken a little unplanned break from my weekly blog posting to first soak up the rest of summer as simply as possible, just walking, reading, doing yoga, and enjoying the comforts of home. And then, I went back to school a week and a half ago for teacher inservice and the first few days with students; it is the busiest stretch of time. August is a transitional month – summer heading toward fall, carefree days becoming structured ones. Part of me wants to hold onto the sweet summer days, but once school begins again, I find myself craving the crisp days of September and October. Here are some things I’ve been up to during this shifting of seasons:
Only wearing the comfiest of pajamas
In the evenings, I’ve been wearing my Lake Pajamas or this set – cute and comfy pajamas just make me feel good! In the first photo, I’m wearing Lake’s long-short set in bistro, and in the second, one of their new fall sets from the recently launched Naturalist Collection. I was gifted these sets and love working with this wonderful brand that makes soft, high-quality, long-lasting pjs and cozy dresses.
Enjoying quiet, beautiful moments in nature
August can be hot, but it can also be so beautiful – and it has been here lately. I’ve been loving the cooler mornings with the sun beginning to slant in the sky, brilliant butterflies and spiderwebs in the park, and those final sweeping summer sunsets and blooms.
Finding magic in the everyday
A few weeks ago, I bought this Unicorn Gypsophila at Trader Joe’s, and it has brought a little magic to our home. It was only a few dollars to buy and is still living and thriving!
Being with friends
Before summer vacation’s close, I had my friends over for a celebratory gathering with plenty of snacks and color. I recommend Meri Meri for party supplies.
Going to Greenville, SC
Last weekend, we traveled to Greenville, SC – somewhere I had never been! – for my cousin’s baby shower. It was such a pretty and perfect place for a little weekend getaway. I especially loved the waterfalls right in the heart of town.
Nesting at home
We have now lived in our current home for nearly two years, but homes take time, so this summer I’ve been rearranging some furniture and decor to make the space look and feel its best. Plus, H and I are getting married in just 2 months (can’t believe it!) so I think the nesting instincts have kicked in, to really make our house a home. This weekend, I was working on creating an entry hall table area, and moved this Pothos away from its tucked-away window spot – I was stunned at its growth! I trimmed it after snapping this photo and am propagating a few new plants (fun fact: this plant itself was propagated from another).
As I get settled into this new school year, and fall truly begins, I’ll be sharing some seasonal posts, from decor to style and more. What would you like to see this fall? Please leave a comment and let me know!

Love to see all different styles! Especially for fall time! It’s a really exciting time with so many things happening! If you meal prep for school I would love to see what you meal prep! I try to meal prep for work often but run out of ideas quickly!

Thanks, Paige! I do not meal prep for school, but I know it can be tricky to think of new ideas. I do have one blog post about a lunch idea, and I hope you find it helpful! https://thehoneyprint.com/2021/04/19/a-mediterranean-inspired-packed-lunch/#/
