H and I leave on our honeymoon this Saturday for my spring break. We are so excited; it will be my first time in the Caribbean (or anywhere like it), and I am anticipating warm, sunny days in the sand and exploring the island with my husband! Here are some essentials that I am planning to bring along:
- Light, easy dresses
- Shorts/tops
- Lightweight pants (my favorite travel pants)
- Cardigan
- Soft pajamas
- Swimsuit/coverup
- Comfy, versatile sneakers
- Sandals
- Packable straw hat
- Reef-friendly sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Fun reads – Georgie, All Along, The Dead Romantics, The Vibrant Years
- Mini crossword book for the plane
- My Canon camera
- My AWAY suitcase
- CALPAK backpack (so lightweight, lots of pockets)
- Lululemon belt bag
I am usually a pretty good packer – not packing too much, or too little. I try to focus on the activities and what I will really be doing over the trip, and I pack items that I can rewear. I’m always able to fit everything I need into my trusty carry-on suitcase (which, yes, fits in the overhead bin!), even for three weeks in Europe and a winter trip in Jackson Hole. I try to pack not-too-bulky items (and in fact, decided against a dress I was thinking I might bring because it’s just not practical), but if something is bulky, I choose to wear it on the plane (athletic shoes, for instance). I also always use packing cubes for my clothing, which helps keep everything compressed as well as organized. I like the ones with mesh so you can see what’s inside.
Do you have any favorite packing strategies, and are you traveling anywhere this spring?
I’ll see you all here when we get back!
