H and I are attending four late spring/early summer weddings this year (two down, two to go!), and I’ve needed quite a few dresses – for welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, a bridesmaid luncheon, and of course, the big day itself. I’ve tried to get as few dresses as possible with a plan to rewear them for different events – and I’ve found dresses that I’ll be able to continue wearing after the weddings are over.
For the first wedding we attended in Miami in May, I found this dress for the tropical-theme welcome party, which I paired with these sandals, and it was perfect for that – I even wore it on the plane and went straight to the party! For the black-tie wedding, I wore the same dress that I did at this wedding in Dallas. I would encourage you to not be afraid of rewearing event dresses. It’s more sustainable and cost-effective, and no one will remember or care that you’ve donned it before. Both dresses will stay in my closet for future events.
For the next three weddings (one was just last night, and I was a bridesmaid!) – all which have different dress codes – I’m wearing each of the following three dresses several times. For instance, the dress that I chose for the bridesmaids luncheon this past Friday, I’ll repeat at the upcoming wedding’s welcome party. The best part is that I’ll keep reaching for these pieces in my closet beyond the wedding weekends.
