A few weeks ago, I was stunned to see that a little bunch of daffodils had suddenly bloomed in our front yard. It seemed that one moment they weren’t there, and the next they were. It felt so early for daffodils, but with the warmer weather we’d been having, I supposed it made sense. Should they have bloomed so early? Probably not, but I couldn’t help feeling absolutely delighted at their presence. It was the first sign – aside from the warmer days – that spring was on its way. I felt inspired to write a poem:
I love and appreciate all seasons, and each time a new one arrives I feel that it is my favorite. That is currently how I feel about spring (and I know, it’s not even actually spring yet!). Nature breathing new life gives me new life, too. Seeing the colorful blooms and feeling the warm sun, I start dreaming of longer, carefree days. I am ready to greet this new spring and all the beauty that comes with it.
