The past week has brought classic sunny and dry, beautiful October weather with clear blue skies. It has been a busy week as I assist with the musicals at the school where I work as a third grade teacher, and we’ve had long days with dress rehearsals and performances. Still, I made sure to step outside whenever possible for walks or working in the sunshine. I am looking forward to the weather continuing to stay cool, and with that will be more time spent snuggling up in our living room.
The rug from our last home had begun to look a bit dingy and worn, and I found a new Rifle Paper Co. one similar to the rug we got and love in our bedroom. This rug is just as soft and lovely as that one, and its deep colors feel perfect for the colder months.
The rug brings a comforting plushness and warmth for chilly days.
Plus, it goes well with our spooky season decorations.
Yesterday morning, I noticed that one of the pumpkins on our rock wall was already moldy. I had tried a different pumpkin patch this year closer to our home, but decided to go back to my usual favorite, Flying Ghost Pumpkin Patch, to get a replacement pumpkin (the flat white one), plus a few new little ones. I love them and actually like this arrangement better than the original!
In addition to the rock wall decorations, I love viewing our front porch every day, and my bright yellow mums are starting to come out.
And in our renovated closet, my Inslee Fariss calendar offers gorgeous seasonal monthly illustrations. They actually just released their 2025 one.
A cozy new rug, pumpkins, autumn and Halloween decorations – it all simply make me happy; I love feeling festive for each season and time of year. I hope you soak up all the lovely October joys.
