Autumn through the holiday season is my favorite time of year; I love the decorations, coziness, and traditions. Over the past week, I have slowly been going upstairs to store away the autumnal and bring down Christmas. It can feel a little overwhelming to do everything at once, and I have enjoyed my more leisurely decorating this year. It still feels too early for me to put out the tree, wreath, or outdoor lights (maybe next weekend), but I have nearly every other indoor decoration placed (with a few more to come). I do still have a couple of fall items in the kitchen for Thanksgiving. Having most of the holiday decor out truly does brighten up the longer evenings, and I enjoy turning on the string lights and curling up at 5 p.m. on the couch for a cozy night.
I took these photos on this beautiful Sunday morning, treasuring the sunshine and colorful, festive decorations. Most everything is the same from last year, except we have our new rug!
Relaxing on our plush couch is such a comfort with warm blankets in holiday colors.
I always love putting out my village; the colorful bottle brush trees bring me joy.
I enjoy sipping tea in front of our coffee table and faux mantel that I created last season. One new piece I got this year is the felt white reindeer from Giftery’s annual Holiday Open House.
The other new item I couldn’t resist buying is the felted wool garland from Trader Joe’s. It was inexpensive and just too cute. I love it above our kitchen sink! They also had a mini garland and wreath in the store. I am also really enjoying my pot holders from Giftery – one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas.
Cheers to the holiday season beginning! Have you started decorating?
P.S. Our Christmas tree and lights from last year (coming next!) and Thanksgiving bouquets.
