Valentine’s Day this year was a school holiday for the long Presidents’ Day weekend. It is such a treat to have a four-day weekend in the middle of February, which is a particularly busy month of teaching due to report cards, conferences, and the all-school musical with which I am involved. For Valentine’s Day, relaxation was what I needed.
That morning, I woke up to a sweet bouquet and chocolates from H. The heart wreath on the back door is from Trader Joe’s.

This boxwood wreath on the front door was a gift from H’s mom a few years ago, and it has held up nicely!

After using a massage certificate at Escape from a Christmas gift – the perfect way to relax into the weekend – I picked up our Valentine’s dinner for the evening from Food Co. While most years we have gone out to eat, it was a treat to pick up a prepared meal that just needed to be heated up. It even came in this cute reusable bag.

Plus, this sweet stem of red and pink flowers and hearts was included too! It really made the meal feel special, and we got to be cozy on the couch.

It was a lovely and relaxing day. I always enjoy Valentine’s Day because it’s just something fun to decorate for and celebrate in the middle of winter, and now we can look forward to spring. I hope you spend the rest of this weekend feeling loved!
P.S. It’s not too late to make some heart cookies just for fun.
