The past couple of weeks have brought warmer weather, the first light green buds and grass, wildflowers, cherry blossoms, longer days, and more time spent on the patio and porch. We also have had some stormy weather in Nashville over the last few days, but for now, I am focused on the sunshine.

The Yoshino cherry trees always bloom first in Nashville, typically in late March. I always love getting out and snapping photos of them.

The next blooms I noticed were all of the sweet little wildflowers in our backyard (and in the park). I think they made our yard look a little magical, like a spring fairy garden. Cleo loves the warm weather and has been so happy.

H put out the cushions and umbrella for our patio table again, and we have enjoyed sitting out here in the spring sunshine. I am looking forward to planting flowers out here soon.

On my birthday, an unusually warm and sunny day in the low 80s, my mom and I walked at Percy Warner Park, had a lovely lunch at Roze Pony, and returned to Cheekwood to see the end of their flowers in bloom.

After Cheekwood, I strolled Belle Meade Boulevard to see the Kwanzan cherry trees in bloom, which always bloom after the first variety, often for my birthday. I love their bright pink color.
After a relaxing remainder of the afternoon in the warm air on the screen porch, my parents picked up H and me for a fun and festive dinner at Pelato in Germantown (I forgot to snap a photo). We sat on the patio, and although the entire place was pretty packed and loud, the food was delicious; we especially enjoyed the crispy garlic potatoes and burnt broccolini, and I loved the pesto pasta. We then returned to our house for cake and presents on the screen porch, as it was still warm and lovely outside.

I have been a longtime admirer of Heather Taylor Home, and H got me this petite pillow and these quilted coasters, both of which I’ve taken inside to the living room for now since the weekend has become rainy again. I really love them and think the gingham pattern is so sweet! They match Cleo’s collar which I got for her a few weeks ago and love (now on sale). You can see a little peek of our dogwood trees blooming again out the front windows.
Oh, how I love early spring! I hope you are noticing and loving all the little details.
P.S. The flowers I planted last spring (can’t wait to do this again soon) and floral home details.
