Happy August! This August is looking quite different from all the others in my life, not only because I’m pregnant, but also because I’m not going back to teaching this fall for the first time in a decade. This was a big decision to make, but definitely the right one for me and our little growing family. Having a year off to plan and soak up the sweet time with new baby will be really meaningful, and I am so thankful that it is possible for us. And so, what is normally my most busy month has become a bit slower with new routines and an opportunity to keep enjoying summer. I have been doing more cooking, tending to the garden, walking, going to prenatal yoga classes, continuing summer reading, painting the nursery with a stencil design, and engaging in other home projects. It has been a welcome change of pace.

I have been in nesting mode all summer, and so we have been decluttering, completing house projects, and acquiring updates as needed. We really needed a quality bookshelf in the living room with more storage space, and I love this West Elm find that fits the vibe of the room and matches the couch. I have not styled this piece exactly, but plan on letting it happen organically as I find things I love and wish to display – even if just more books!

It was also finally time for a coffee table upgrade, and we chose this marble top one which is a lovely fit in the room as well. I love how the living room has come together this month.

Our bedding was becoming a bit worn, and I’ve always been a quilt person (versus the duvet/duvet cover we had) – so I finally got the Dream Quilt on sale, the best, comfiest, and softest quilt that I’d been eyeing for some time. I chose the Amalfi Blue color, which is so soothing. I love the pretty stitching details as well.

On August 1, we attended an event in the evening at Cheekwood, and I wore this floral maternity dress with my all-time favorite flats. I was so comfortable and felt good in these.

I recently partnered with Quince to share some of their maternity collection. I have been a fan of Quince’s affordable and high-quality clothing for a while, and their maternity pieces are lovely as well. These are their cotton overalls, which I think will be a perfect addition to my wardrobe this fall.

This jumpsuit is butter-soft, lightweight, and breathable – another that I think I might be living in this fall.

This dress is really the showstopper, and I think would be beautiful for maternity photos or a baby shower. If interested, you can use my code INFG-25THEHONEYPRINT10 for 10% off your first Quince order.
And so begins a new sort of life this fall – one with more flexibility and time for pursuits outside of teaching that I have not had a chance to focus on as much. I am looking forward to what this time may bring – in addition to our baby in December, of course! Sending love to you this August and hope you find moments to savor the rest of summertime.
P.S. Home and style updates from June plus more of summer life, a week in Jackson Hole, and our annual Rhode Island vacation.
