I cannot believe September is here and we have three months until baby’s arrival. I have spent the summer blissfully in the second trimester, feeling pretty good and enjoying the time spent at home and away from work.

We started the summer with a dreamy trip in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where we announced my pregnancy. July brought our annual vacation on the coast in Rhode Island. When we returned home, we painted the nursery and have begun to get ready for baby.

In between the projects, research, and reading, there have been some lovely slow moments at home… watching our daily hummingbird and butterfly visitors enjoy the zinnias, visiting the local farm stand for fresh peaches and tomatoes (they actually just put out pumpkins!!), and listening to all the summer nature sounds on the screen porch.

I have been feeling baby get bigger and move more and more in my belly. In a week and a half, I will leave this second trimester summer and enter a third trimester fall, and things will feel a little more real! I am trying to just take one day at a time, soak up this sweet pregnancy, and be in the moment as much as possible.

I will certainly always treasure this summer, the summer I grew our little boy and had him with me all the time in beautiful places and special moments.

P.S. This year’s July reads – and another book thoughts post is coming soon!
