H and I have been gradually working on the nursery since this summer when we painted the walls using a stencil. Today, I am 36 weeks pregnant (!!) and now that I’m officially in the ninth month, we have things pretty well set up for baby. Adjustments may still be made, but here’s how we have the room set up at the moment.

Here is our glider and ottoman, which I picked both for their comfort and more compact size to fit well in this corner. The side table goes nicely beside it – I always love a scalloped detail. The simple bookcase is great for some added storage, and my cousins got us the cute (more scallops!) changing table organizer (in addition to the matching storage cart, which is backordered – can’t wait for it to arrive!). The washable rug ties this nook together.

The dresser was mine at my parents’ house, and I’ve had the lamp for years as well. We purchased this wipeable change pad, and although it takes up more space on the dresser than anticipated (I didn’t think to measure first), it’s very soft and seems like it will be easy for diaper changes. I love this sweet pom pom hamper for storing larger items, which matches this basket on the bookshelf and caddy which is currently downstairs with bibs and muslin cloths.

The white wicker shelf table was mine growing up as well, and the crib is a hand-me-down from H’s sister but originally comes from Serena & Lily. The pillows, quilt, and baby bear are of course just for decoration and will be moved when baby starts sleeping in the crib. A friend sent us this beautiful, whimsical mobile.

Although baby will be downstairs with us for his first months of life, I have been in nesting mode, so H and I have made sure everything is set up for baby as well as generally organized and decluttered in our house. I have also gone ahead and decorated early for Christmas since my due date is in the beginning part of December. We just have to put the tree up, and then I will share those decorations!
It is feeling exciting as we near our little one’s arrival! Getting the house ready has been fun, and I am looking forward to snuggling with our new baby in this cozy festive season.
P.S. Our baby shower and babymoon.
