Happy December! It’s one of my favorite months, as the holidays are my favorite time of year – and it’s also baby’s birth month! I’ll be 39 weeks tomorrow, and we are feeling so excited as baby could arrive at any time. I have still been feeling good, and am thankful to have been enjoying the start of the holiday season as we await our Christmas baby.

This past Friday after Thanksgiving, I was at home resting and H went out shopping with his mom – and they returned with a surprise for me, beautiful greenery and bows to decorate the house from a nearby tree lot! Then H bought some outdoor lights to complete the display. I love it SO much.

He also decorated the back patio, where we have an outdoor fireplace!

Over the weekend, I had a surge of renewed energy and made Christmas sugar cookies! I used King Arthur sugar cookie mix to keep things simple, and mixed up the dough on Saturday, then refrigerated it.

On Sunday afternoon, I rolled out the dough, cut out shapes, and decorated with powdered sugar mixed with almond milk and sprinkles! Making sugar (and gingerbread – still to come!) cookies every December is one of my favorite things to do, ever since helping my mom when I was little.

Wishing you a joyful start to the holiday season!
