Guys, I am so excited, because this week, March happens! I don’t know about you, but I have been embracing these warmer temperatures in Nashville. I am fully ready to say goodbye to February and hello to spring.
And so, here are some easy ways to prep for a season switch:
1. Put the winter decor away.
I know, it’s technically still winter. But when it’s March, my mind thinks spring. I have already stored away all snowflake-scented candles and wintry decor. I have floral candles back out and placed fresh blooms on countertops. I finally stripped away the rest of the Christmas lights (yes, I did have some strands still out…just white lights!) Refreshing your home means refreshing your mind.
2. Switch out your closet.
I still have sweaters and coats at the forefront of my closet. But with temperatures rising, I need my warm-weather clothes! I will keep some sweaters out for cold spells, but I am ready for my springy tees and dresses to be back and prominent.
3. Do a deep clean.
Spring cleaning means literally cleaning, guys. I get a little lazier about my home in the wintertime (I blame the weather). I have been cleaning, sure, but lightly. Sometimes just vacuuming but not mopping, for instance. Now is the time to take it up a few notches. I mean clean out all those crevices you normally avoid. Clear away all the dust (this will help with allergies, too). Scrub the tub. Wipe down the refrigerator. Do what you don’t want to do, and then feel awesome that you did it. I personally prefer to take a morning and do it all at once while playing some favorite music to keep me moving, but do what works for you.
4. Declutter and donate.
Whatever you did not wear or use this past winter season, say goodbye. Don’t just store it away, once again, if you aren’t really utilizing it (whatever it may be). Declutter, let go, and breathe a sigh of relief!
5. Refresh your bedding.
I love to have separate winter and summer bedding. It feels so nice to switch out thick blankets or comforters for lighter ones.
Making these changes feels good because it signals to your brain that spring is coming, and spring just makes people happy! Enjoy switching it up, and spread that spring fever!
Love, Bee
