Life has been quite busy lately- next weekend, Harrison and I are getting married (10.22.22)! Between packing the welcome boxes, deciding on table assignments, writing thank you notes, and figuring out the myriad of other details that go into a wedding, in addition to teaching, there hasn’t been much time to simply relax. That isn’t to say this hasn’t been an exciting and enjoyable process (with a touch of stress mixed in, ha)! I have felt so much love from friends and family, which has been special. Still, amid this busy season of life, I have been seeking out small moments of joy and wonder when possible, like seeing the leaves above at Percy Warner Park. This past Thursday and Friday was my fall break, and amid all the planning and discussion, my mom and I walked in the park and felt in awe of these colors.
Then I went back to Flying Ghost Pumpkin Patch (where I got my pumpkins and mums!) and picked out these classic orange pumpkins and mums for my parents’ front porch as well as a few mini pumpkins for their mantel. My mom wanted to wait until close to the wedding so that everything would be fresh, and I offered to get everything for her since I love this pumpkin patch and picking out decor. It was a little moment that made me happy.
I have picked up watercolor painting lately, as a very casual hobby; I find that it relaxes me. Just for fun, I’m selling my two recent paintings on Etsy as downloads for you to enjoy digitally, or print and have in your home. Above is my original artwork. This is just another something that grounds me, and brings me comfort and delight.
The next time you hear from me, we’ll be married! I can’t believe the big day is so soon.
Is this a busy time for you? Where are you finding moments of joy?
P.S. Spooky season decorations around the house, autumn activities to make the most of the season, and my low-key, easy bachelorette weekend.
EDIT: I have since closed my Etsy shop and decided to just focus on my blog, which is my biggest passion! Thank you for your support.
