A very happy upcoming holiday season to you! I decorated the whole house earlier than ever this year since we are expecting a baby (see our shower and nursery) in the first part of December. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I really love decorating, so I went ahead and have been doing so in these first weeks of November while I am still feeling quite good and before baby arrives. I’ll be 37 weeks on Tuesday, so I am glad to have the house all ready for our little one’s arrival and newborn holiday snuggles.

Most all of our decorations are from years past, just displayed a little differently. I love the Christmas village on our new bookshelf.

We have a collection of baubles and assorted ornaments that have been gifts or discovered on travels and in gift shops.

Toward the end of the last season, I had the idea to tie red ribbons on the stockings, and I love the festive pop. Also see a little peek at baby’s stocking.

The morning sunshine in this room makes me so happy. Christmas lights at night are magical, of course, but I also love waking up, making a cup of Christmas tea, and sitting in this room with the string lights on and sunshine filtering in.

While the living room has more color, I enjoy the simplicity of white and gold in the dining room.

The kitchen is a nostalgic, beloved spot that makes me think of decorating Christmas cookies with my mom and eating cozy meals with loved ones over the holiday.

And finally, the wreaths are on the back and front doors!

The cheer of holiday decorations just puts me in a cozy, joyful mood – and I cannot imagine a better time of year to have a baby; it feels perfect for me! The nesting instinct has been strong, so I am loving having the house decorated and ready.
I hope you have a beautiful rest of autumn and start to the holidays.
P.S. All my holiday posts.
